UCFTireProfile
Soft-tyre deformation settings for one vehicle type, assigned on UCFTireComponent. Each field feeds the same-named field of the wheel's deformer when the wheel is granted. The trace fan here is detail tier 0; farther tiers thin it out (CFTireBudget::ComputeTraceDensity).
Functions
The tier-0 trace density built from this profile's own tracing fields.
Properties
Channel the tyre traces against: terrain, rocks, road.
- Default
- ECC_WorldStatic
- Category
- Tracing
Characters never dent a tyre.
- Default
- true
- Category
- Tracing
Per-polygon collision, for rock detail. The farthest detail tier always traces simple collision.
- Default
- true
- Category
- Tracing
Rays across the contact arc. An odd count keeps one ray straight down; farther tiers thin this down to a floor of 3.
- Default
- 13
- Category
- Tracing
Rows across the tread: 3 covers the inner shoulder, the center and the outer shoulder.
- Default
- 3
- Category
- Tracing
Half-angle of the ray fan around chassis-down, degrees.
- Default
- 70.f
- Category
- Tracing
Fraction of the half tread width the rows spread over.
- Default
- 0.8f
- Category
- Tracing
Spreads the fan over this many frames. Higher is cheaper and reacts later.
- Default
- 3
- Category
- Tracing
Deepest visual dent, cm.
- Default
- 14.f
- Category
- Deformation
Penetrations shallower than this are ignored, cm.
- Default
- 0.3f
- Category
- Deformation
Contacts closer than this merge into one, cm.
- Default
- 18.f
- Category
- Deformation
Close contacts merge into one only when their normals differ by no more than this, degrees. A low value splits a small round obstacle under a big tyre into several contacts that take all four slots, so the ground under the tyre loses its own.
- Default
- 45.f
- Category
- Deformation
Smallest radius, cm, a round obstacle's curvature is read as. A thinner one, such as a pipe, shapes the dent as if it were this thick.
- Default
- 3.f
- Category
- Deformation
Scales how far a dent spreads over the tread.
- Default
- 1.5f
- Category
- Deformation
How fast a contact's position catches up with the ground, 1/s.
- Default
- 12.f
- Category
- Smoothing
How fast a contact's normal catches up, 1/s.
- Default
- 8.f
- Category
- Smoothing
How fast a dent deepens, 1/s.
- Default
- 14.f
- Category
- Smoothing
How fast a dent fades once the ground is gone, or once the wheel leaves the budget, 1/s.
- Default
- 8.f
- Category
- Smoothing
Farthest a new hit may be from an existing contact and still update it, cm.
- Default
- 25.f
- Category
- Smoothing
Undeformed tyre radius, cm. 0 uses the wheel mesh's radius (half its bounding-box height).
- Default
- 0.f
- Category
- Geometry
Tread width, cm. 0 uses the wheel mesh's extent along its axle.
- Default
- 0.f
- Category
- Geometry
How far a resting tyre is squashed, as a fraction of its radius. The host holds the hub at the physics wheel radius from the ground, so the wheel mesh never reaches it and nothing would flatten; the mesh is lowered, visually only, by the gap between the physics radius and the tyre radius plus this deflection.
- Default
- 0.05f
- Category
- Geometry
How much the resting sink grows with the wheel's live load. 0 keeps the constant resting sink; 1 scales it by the wheel's contact force divided by its nominal load.
- Default
- 1.0f
- Category
- Load
Ceiling on the load factor the sink may reach.
- Default
- 2.5f
- Category
- Load
Smoothing time constant, seconds, while the load-driven factor rises.
- Default
- 0.05f
- Category
- Load
Smoothing time constant, seconds, while the load-driven factor falls.
- Default
- 0.25f
- Category
- Load
Rim radius, cm. 0 reads the tyre material's RimRadius parameter.
- Default
- 0.f
- Category
- Rim
Rubber kept between an obstacle and the rim, cm.
- Default
- 2.f
- Category
- Rim
Farthest the whole wheel is shifted off an obstacle, cm; past it the rim may enter the obstacle.
- Default
- 10.f
- Category
